Jenna watt is a freelance Live Artist and Director originally from Inverness and currently living and working in Edinburgh, Scotland.  

Jenna creates small to mid-scale multi-disciplinary works that combine the practice of live art and more traditional theatrical forms.  Jenna is best known for creating works that explore risk, violence and interaction.  Her live art happening It's Ok, It's Only Temporary (the apple smashing piece) gained her notoriety after she was temporarily banned from a Scottish venue.  However this piece went on to tour the UK to venues including the Forest Fringe, The Basement, Brighton, Out of the Blue, Edinburgh and soon - Camden People's Theatre, London.

As a Director, Jenna has worked on a variety of projects including large scale productions, small scale touring productions and one off performances, directing professional actors, learning disabled adults and young people. Jenna predominantly directs New Writing by young people, 'emerging' writers and established writers.  In Autumn 2011, Jenna was part of the New Directors initiative with the National Theatre of Scotland where she worked as assistant director with Vicky Featherstone on Abi Morgan's play 27.

Since graduating from QMUC in 2006, Jenna has created several live art works and one major theatre work; Little Vikings Are Never Lost, which received New Work funding from the Scottish Arts Council in 2008.  Jenna has performed twice at the internationally renowned National Review of Live Art, first in 2008 with live artwork Bench and then in 2009 with Little Vikings Are Never Lost

In 2007, Jenna began working with Edinburgh based Lung Ha's Theatre Company as Creative Administrator, where she worked on 5 theatre productions.  Their site-specific co-production with Grid Iron; Huxleys Lab won Best Ensemble at the 2010 Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS).  Jenna then received an Assistant Bursary Award from the Federation of Scottish Theatre to work as Assistant Director on the touring production Chekhov Shorts with Lung Ha's Theatre Company.
